Great way to kick off the year and make new friends! All UNCG students are welcome!
The Spartan Open Pantry is looking forward to the opportunity to offer students backpacks! Backpacks are expensive and can be one more expense that causes students to start out the year financially unstable. We hope to provide just a little more stability to help students start out the year prepared!
Backpacks may be dropped off at the Smith Campus Ministries Center, 500 Stirling Street (on UNCG’s campus), or College Place UMC, 509 Tate Street (we are collecting at this site from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday & Wednesday only; the doors are locked otherwise).
A note from Hillel’s Director of Student Life, Greensboro:
I wanted to let you know about the Roots program that UNC-G Hillel is hosting next week on Tuesday, February 5 at 10:00 am in the Associated Campus Ministries/Smith Bldg. Additional events will also be held in the Triad area (see flyer for details). Roots is a unique collaboration of local Palestinians and Israelis building a grassroots model for coexistence.
This event is a joint partnership with Wake Forest University Hillel, High Point University Hillel, UNCG-Hillel and many supporting groups. The UNC-G program is open to the community, and we hope that you will join us. We ask that you please share with your organizations, places of worship, schools, etc. If you plan on attending, we do ask you to rsvp at: https://northcarolina.wufoo.com/forms/m1rmo7e908hsm24/
The UNCG community will come together Thursday evening, November 1 to grieve and support each other as we work to cope with the devastating events of the past week. Co-sponsoring the vigil with the Division of Student Affairs, UNCG’s Religious Life Council both mourns and condemns the killing of 11 Jews at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh and two African-Americans at a grocery store near Louisville, Ky. Please join us at 6:00 pm Thursday, Nov. 1 in the EUC Auditorium as Spartans from all backgrounds, faiths and traditions stand in solidarity, affirming that we are Stronger than Hate.
